I am still learning Photoshop, so most of this was trial and error for me. However the contest has allowed me to learn a ton of things about the program that I had no clue on.

I wanted to show 3 stages of completing to this because I did so much that I lost track of the orders I did them in. So I will list them here.

Removed the chest piercing
Removed the nose piercing
Adjusted contrast, color, brightness,levels
Removed noise
Changed the Shadow/Highlight-Hue/Saturation
Used Photo filters and Exposure changes
Used the sharpen filter
Adjusted the lighting effect
Used High Pass layer mask on Overlay setting
Despeckled and removed Dust and Scratches
Used Gaussian blur on low opacity layer
Spot healed with brush smudge and blur tool
Removed Red area around the earring

The back of the head looks dark in the first two photos, however after several changes in brightness and lighting, the shaved back part of the head was noticeable.

Did slight patchwork on the back of the head hairline, cheek area around the mouth, and eyes using all above techniques.

Many of these things were done multiple times

The pic would be a lot more realistic, if you stay away from the saturated tones. A bit more greyish tones would make this really nice. Watch with the dodge/burn tools since they aside of making things bright/dark, they also change the color info itself and you end up with a totally different color. However, if used wisely, it can be a really powerful tool :)
I think you used it a bit too much in the end ^^;
I know, its really tempting to use those saturated colors. I tend to use them from time to time, but in the end, you can make something bright, with putting darker tones next to it, so it will pop out ^^

Just my 2 cents :)
